The incident of Private Ratthaphum, belonging to the 1623rd Infantry Company, using an M16 rifle taken from the camp to shoot and injure two villagers in Kab Choeng District, Surin Province, before fleeing with the gun, occurred in the middle of the night on August 14, 2015. Police and soldiers then mobilized to search for him, applying pressure for nearly 10 hours.
