The Commander of Army Region 2 orders reduced patrols

The Second Army Region Commander led a delegation to inspect the site of a Thai soldier's stepping on a landmine. He asserted that there was clear evidence Cambodia had placed a new one. He ordered a halt to foot patrols and indicated that building a barrier could be done at some points. He acknowledged that the Thai-Cambodian border is nearly 1,000 kilometers long.
Today (15 August 2015) at the Royal Thai Army Headquarters, Lt. Gen. Boonsin Phadklang, Commander of the 2nd Army Area, spoke about the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' plan to lead a delegation of diplomats representing embassies of member countries of the Ottawa Convention to Ubon Ratchathani and Sisaket Provinces, at the Pha Mor I Daeng area in Sisaket Province, to listen to a briefing and the work of officials in clearing mines by the 2nd Humanitarian Mine Action Unit in the Phu Makhuea area. หนังใหม่2025
